So, when an international institute of professionals asked us to upgrade their Intranet, we knew it was crucial to design a digital solution which was both painless for administrators and simple to use for their vast network of more than 130,000 professionals around the world. The Institution’s SharePoint-based system was out-of-date and difficult to manage – administrators had to follow a long, overly complicated process to publish new information, and Microsoft had stopped supporting some of the functions.
In three months, Cielo Costa delivered a bespoke, user-friendly upgrade which enabled the client’s administration team to publish everything from news stories to event invites swiftly and with a minimum of fuss. In addition, because the upgrade was built using Microsoft products such as SharePoint Online – there was no need for the client to buy an additional licence.

We ensured the system was custom-branded with client branding, logo, colour palette and style. The landing page is a one-stop communications and connection hub, featuring:
- A regularly updated internal news feed and social media streams
- Key upcoming events
- Internal contact search
- Direct chat function
- A spotlight video, and
Quick Links to claim expenses, book travel, contact the IT and facilities helpdesk, access the internal video channel, access learning tools, and more.
Our client has offices in every significant financial market and operates across almost 150 countries, we also included a handy third-party link which enables users to compare time zones when they are organising international meetings.
Using tools such as Microsoft PowerShell we were able to fully automate the deployment and create site designs and templates to allow the Intranet to grow – but to still maintain a consistency of design and navigation.
