For several years, we have been working with a leading international regulatory body in the property and construction sector as they undergo extensive digital transformation. We have helped our client digitalise a variety of business procedures to make them more efficient and reduce the burden of administration. One of the most important projects we have delivered is a tool that simplifies and standardises data collection for home survey reports. Utilising Node, React and Microsoft SharePoint, we built a full stack software solution that enables surveyors to easily input all of the relevant information about a property, including photos and supporting documents, while out and about on a job. The data is then collated into a highly professional report template, with an option for the surveyor to add their company logo and signature. This project was delivered in nine months – on time and on budget – in November 2020. Our partner was extremely happy with the outcome, awarding Cielo Costa 9 out of 10 for client satisfaction.
We’re here to solve problems
Of course, there is always room for improvement. When we presented Version 1.2 of the property reporting tool in early 2022, we added a swathe of intuitive new features as well as resolving performance issues. We created a more responsive design that makes it possible for the tool to be used on tablets and mobile phones, so it is even more convenient for site visits. We added a list of common property phrases to further standardise reports and make it quicker for surveyors to fill out required fields. We also added a news section so administrators can directly inform users about upcoming maintenance and updates.
New features also include:
- the ability to share reports and phrases between users
- a photo captioning tool
- auto-save every two minutes
- a delete report function
The result is an even more efficient, user-friendly way of processing a large volume of standardised reports produced by multiple people. Customer complaint rates have plummeted by an estimated 95% – and complaints that have been reported are typically due to user error.
